Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Jaksybekov and British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond signed a transit deal through Kazakhstan on Monday, News Kazakhstan reports.
The deal is to allow transit of military cargo and staff through Kazakhstan. The sides discussed military policy and security in Central Asia. Kazakhstan values British efforts to enforce security.
Hammond congratulated the Kazakh military on the 20th anniversary of the Kazakh Army. He noted the dynamic and qualitative development of the armed forces, activation of bilateral contacts and their expansion in all spheres.
The officials expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral ties. The Kazakh minister invited his British counterpart to the Second International Exhibition of Weapon Systems and Military Equipment KADEX 2012 in Astana in early May.
