Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said before the start of the Council for Foreign Affairs in Brussels today that the European Union wants a bigger part in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process of Azerbaijan and Armenia, APA reports.
She noted that the council will discuss a wide range of issues concerning the South Caucasus, including Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. The EU is not a mediator in the settlement of the conflict, although Philippe Lefort was appointed as representative to the region.
