Foreign ministers of 27 EU states have passed a new package of sanctions against Syria, a state struck by anti-government disorders for over a year, RIA Novosti reports.
The foreign ministers passed the 11th package of sanctions against Syria in late January. They impose limitations against 8 Syrian legal bodies and 22 individuals. Their assets in Europe were frozen and the individuals banned.
The EU imposed an embargo on oil imports from Syria and new investments in the state. A ban was imposed on shipments of weapons to Syria.
