South Ossetia's communist leader won't sign pre-election agreement

The leader of the South Ossetian Communist Party, presidential candidate Stanislav Kochiyev, won't sign an agreement sponsored by the other candidate David Sanakoyev.

Sanakoyev suggested that all candidates should unite efforts to make the elections free and prevent protests.

"Of course the elections should be free and fair, but what does it mean to obstain from all actions that will lead to protests?  Are we supposed to tolerate this regime?" the communist leader asked.
