Armenian National Congress to rally on March 30

The Armenian National Congress (ANC), an opposition alliance, will hold a protest rally on March 30, News Armenia cites Nikol Pashinyan, Editor-in-Chief of Aykakan Zhamanak, as saying.

About 4,000 people took part in the recent rally.

Armenian opposition headed by first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, a candidate for president who lost the elections to Serzh Sargsyan on February 19, 2008, held protests at the center of Yerevan on February 20. Protests turned into clashes with the police on March 1-2, 2008. Ten people died and over 200 were injured.

The Armenian National Congress headed by Levon Ter-Petrosyan was formed on August 1, 2008. It consists of about 20 political parties and organizations.
