Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will travel to Azerbaijan on an official visit on March 6-7, Trend reports, referring to the Georgian Embassy in Baku.
In the program of the visit are meetings and negotiations with the leadership of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners. These countries have carried out and are now implementing major energy and transport projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
Trade turnover between the two countries on the basis of 2011 totaled 624.8 million USD, while the share of Azerbaijan's exports account for 535.3 million USD.
