Polling stations in the Russian Westernmost region of Kaliningrad have finally closed. Presidential elections have finished in Russia.

Vladimir Putin gained 58.3 percent of the vote, exit polls indicated, enough to hand him outright victory, RIA Novosti reports.

His nearest rival, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, gained 17.7 percent, state pollster VTsIOM said.
