French president Nicolas Sarkozy has congratulated Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin on winning the presidential election, RIA Novosti reports.
The French leader noted the great value of partnership and dialogue with Russia. He urged Putin to continue working on economic and democratic modernization.
French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe confirmed plans for further development of strategic partnership with Russia after the presidential polls and emphasized that Putin’s victory is beyond doubt.
