Protests against foreign language schools in Armenia

Protests are taking place in Yerevan against the opening of foreign language schools. Posters urging residents of the Armenian capital to "Save your genes and language" have been stuck up all over the city, Gazeta.ru reports.
A many-thousand strong crowd of protesters have gathered outside parliament to demand the resignation of Education Minister Armen Ashotyan, who has promoted the idea of foreign language schools.
