EU lawmakers call for harsh resolution on Russia

A former Belgian prime minister and the leader of the European Parliament's liberal faction, Guy Verhofstadt, says the March 4 presidential elections in Russia were not fair and calls for harsh measures against the country's authorities, Ekho Moskvy reports.

Severe violations during the polls were registered by observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
