The US has passed sanctions against General Holamreza Bakhbani of the al-Quds special service of Iran, a subdivision of the Revolutionary Guards, Armenia Today reports.
The US Treasury says that the general was involved in drug trafficking from Afghanistan and shipments of weapons for the Taliban movement as chief of the directorate in Zahedan, bordering Afghanistan.
The general’s assets were frozen, individuals and legal bodies are not allowed to have deals with Bakhbani.
