France could withdraw from Schengen agreement to limit the influx of migrants

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has criticized the EU's migration policy
and threatened to take action if no solution is found to the migration
problem, Interfax informs.

"France will suspend its participation in the Schengen agreements unless
there is progress in strengthening the borders of the European Union
against immigrants," Sarkozy said on Sunday at a meeting with his
supporters in the suburbs of Paris.

Earlier, the French president said he wanted to halve the number of
immigrants admitted to France annually.
