Tsiskarishvili says high fuel prices in Georgia caused by low corruption

Petre Tsiskarishvili, leader of the parliamentary majority, says that high prices for fuel in Georgia are a result of low corruption, Business Georgia reports.

The plenary session at the parliament has discussed fuel prices today. He urged opposition to avoid comparing Georgian and Azerbaijani gas prices, because the latter has own supply.

The prices in Europe are much higher, despite lack of monopoly. It is a result of high taxes. The reason for high prices in Georgia is good service. Lower prices require corruption.

Tsiskarishvili urged opponents to analyze his statement when blaming the government for corruption and monopoly on high fuel prices.
