Azerbaijani President receives German Foreign Minister

Today Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, Trend reports.

Stressing wide relations between the two countries, President Aliyev expressed confidence that the German foreign minister's current visit will boost partnership between the states even more.

The German minister informed President Aliyev about the meetings he held in the country, stressing the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.

He also underlined the importance of Azerbaijan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and future cooperation in this framework.

During the meeting views were exchanged on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, energy cooperation and other issues.
