Stanislav Kochiyev, a candidate for president in South Ossetia, has demanded the release of Alla Jioyeva, an opposition member.
Kochiyev said that the republic is on the edge of a schism like in the autumn of 2011. He requested Acting President Vadim Brovtsev to reduce tensions and release Jioyeva, who “has proven that she is a leader of modern South Ossetia, receiving the majority of votes in the autumn”.
The candidate for president also demanded the dismissal of Prosecutor General Khugayev “to free people from the oppression of the ruling clan of President Kokoity”.
