5 Turkish servicemen die in Afghanistan

Five Turkish servicemen died in a helicopter crash on the outskirts of Kabul in Afghanistan today, RIA Novosti reports.

The helicopter crashed into a building in the Bagram District due to technical problems. NATO and Turkish military have not commented on the accident.

About 1,800 Turkish troops serve in Afghanistan. Only two Turkish troops had died, as a result of a traffic incident in the Faryab Province, until the recent accident.

Numerous states serve in the anti-terrorist coalition in Afghanistan under US command, as well as part of the ISAF forces under NATO command.
