Moscow believes that statements on Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s illegitimacy made by some Western states are unacceptable, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Such statements give the opposition a feeling that it should not start dialogue and should expect the support of the West and NATO, as happened in Libya. Such a solution is unacceptable and would cause grave repercussions for Syrians and destabilize the region, Bogdanov says.
