NATO supports Georgian reforms

Georgia should focus on strengthening itssecurity and defense, NATO
Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said at a news briefing in
Brussels following a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission.
He noted that while NATO's door remains open for Georgia, it will have
to carry out more reforms to boost the development of the democratic
process, reports Trend.
At the meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission, Rasmussen thanked
Georgian Minister of Defence Bacho Akhalaya for the active
participation of Georgian peacekeepers in the ISAF operation in
Afghanistan.
Akhalaya said after the meeting that he was satisfied with evaluations
by his colleagues from NATO countries. "Our cooperation with the
alliance is progressing. It gives us cause to say that Georgia will
join NATO," he said.
