Fighting between state forces and the Free Syrian Army started in Damascus on Sunday night, Interfax reports.
Shooting was heard at the Al-Mezze District of Damascus, where some state structures, residences of high-ranking officials and foreign embassies are located. More police patrols arrived to secure the district.
