Legislatives of the Krasnodar Territory have approved Alexander Tkachyov as the region’s Governor, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev introduced Tkachyov for the reappointment on March 11.
Tkachyov has been governing the region, which hosts the Winter Olympic Games in 2014, for over 11 years, first appointed on December 3, 2000. The governor was reappointed in March 2004. Tkachyov set the vote of confidence for the president in April 2007 and was approved for another term. The current term expires in April 2012.
