The border with Georgia will be closed at the time of the elections in South Ossetia, Interfax reports, referring to the Republic’s police. From today, all of the security forces in South Ossetia have been put on an enhanced schedule of service until further notice.
"As part of the organized events, from 8pm today (March 24 - IF) the admission of people through the points of simplified crossing of the state border with Georgia will be stopped in the settlements of Mosabrun, Artsevi, Sinagur and Karzman. Admission of citizens through these points will be resumed from 8pm on March 25," the official says.
He stresses that the activities are carried out in connection with the need to ensure security during the presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia on March 25.
