Kokoity: EU must assess Georgian "information provocation"

The situation with the demonstration of the Georgian TV Company "Imedi" TV report about the supposed invasion of Russian forces in Georgia and the murder of President Mikheil Saakashvili and the ensuing movement of the Georgian forces to the border of South Ossetia should be discussed at the next round of Geneva consultations on security issues in the Caucasus, South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity considers, RIA Novosti reported.

"I believe that this information provocation organized by the Georgian side, must become a theme for very serious discussion on  the next Geneva discussions. It is not proper behavior. I think we should hear opinion from the European Union and those intermediaries who have pledged to settle the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. And in any case, such jokes and provocations will not contribute to the promotion of trust between the parties, and we want to know and hear the opinion of the European observers who are there. Why does the Georgian party behave so irresponsibly and why do such large force of armed units of Georgia move?"- said Kokoity in Vladikavkaz.

In his view, this provocation must be taken seriously. Kokoity consider that the television programme has become an occasion for working out certain actions by armed forces of Georgia, which, as President of South Ossetia says, after the message of "Imedi" begins moving to the South Ossetian border.

"Yesterday, our units recorded in the territory of Georgia big columns, including heavy equipment. Their moving was recorded at night in close proximity to the borders of South Ossetia. Exactly the same route as before the August 2008", - said Kokoity.
