Ingush lawmakers proposed obligatory HIV tests for young people planning to marry, RIA Novosti reports.
Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov held a session of the drug control commission. One of the topics for discussion was the program for HIV prevention, similar to the one adopted in Chechnya in 2011.
Political analyst Isa Merzhoyeva says that the initiative would reduce cases of AIDS in the republic. Ingushetia has about 86,000 people in Ingushetia who were tested for HIV. 55 of them were proven infected. 80% of them were aged 20-40.
