Kazakh National Security Committee prevents terrorist attacks

The Kazakh National Security Committee prevented terrorist attacks in Alma-Ata on March 24. A close friend of the former head of the BTA-Bank Mukhtar Ablyazov is among suspects of terrorist attacks in a park and a crosswalk, RIA Novosti reports.


Pavlov Alexander Vladimirovich, born in 1975, has been fugitive from the Kazakh police abroad since 2009. Pavlov supervises Ablyazov's security since 2005. He helped the banker steal major sums of cash and organized evacuation of his personal archieves in February 2009. He is currently in the UK.


Pavlov organized a theft in April 2010 and was put on the wanted list in August 2010.. Ketebayev Muratbek, one of the heads of the Alga Party, is Ablyazov's henchman abroad. Pavlov planned terrorist attacks in September 2011 at the Family Park behind the Sary Arka Cinema Theater in the Auyezovsky District and at the Al-Farabi Avenue.


Pavlov provided $25,000 for realization of his plans. He made a pre-payment of $15,000.
