Two US carriers leave Gulf

A US naval group with Abraham Lincoln as the flgaship has left the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, Vzglyad reports.


The group is in the northern part of the Arabian Sea upporting NATO forces in Afghanistan, Interfax reports.


The Seventh Fleet with flagship Carl Vinson is reportedly heading to the western part of the Pacific Ocean and then to San Diego (State California). It is expected to be back home this summer.


There are no aircraft carriers in the Gulf at the moment. The Enterprise carrier entered the Greek port of Pirey.
US atomic carrier Abraham Lincoln entered the Gulf on March 20.
