United Russia lists candidates for governor of Moscow Region

United Russia has proposed Russian Minister for Emergencies Sergei Shoigu as its candidate to govern the Moscow Region. The other candidates are Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, Igor Parkhomenko, and the head of Moscow's Reutovo, Alexander Khodyrev, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the party Boris Gryzlov said, RIA Novosti reports.


The party will meet President Dmitry Medvedev to present its recommendations.


The party proposes Alexander Drozhin, Chief Federal Inspector for the region, and Acting Governor Valery Radayev or Deputy Agriculture Minister Alexander Solovyov to become Governor of the Saratov Region. Omsk lawmaker Alexander Artyomov, Chief Federal Inspector of the Omsk Region of the office of the plenipotentiary presidential envoy to the SFD, Sergey Litskevich, and Director of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Omsk, Victor Nazarov, have chances for governing the Omsk Region.
