The Special Representative of the UN and the League of Arab States (LAS), Kofi Annan, will visit Iran for talks on a Syrian settlement. Dates of the trip are still to be determined, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Annan’s spokesman Ahmad Fawzi."At the moment we are discussing appropriate dates with the Iranian authorities. (Annan) is going to visit Tehran, but it has not yet been confirmed," he says.
Earlier this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi reported that next week Annan will visit the capital of the Iran to find a solution to the Syrian crisis. However, Fauzi denies the report, stating that the Special Representative has no specific plans to travel to Iran.
