Azerbaijan is preparing documents for associated membership with of the European Union, Deputy Minister for Economic Development Sevindzh Gasanova said, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
The sides are negotiating 15 points. They are preparing to negotiate two points, Gasanova said at the Committee for Economic Integration, Legal Approach of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Program (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine in Baku on Monday.
The EU shares over 50% of trade turnover. 650 companies from over 50 European states have trade relations with Azerbaijan.
The deputy minister reminded that 20% of the territory of Azerbaijan is occupied. Refugees are a problem.
The committee is having a session within the framework of the Euronest PA.
