The work of 23 branches of international terrorist organizations and 20 radical organizations was halted in Russia last year, RIA Novosti cites, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev as saying.
The organizations were committing crime basing on national, racial and religious intolerance, including grave murders, Nurgaliyev said at an inter-department commission for combating extremism.
He added that the Russian Supreme Court banned 28 extremist organizations and is preparing to take new measures.
Nurgaliyev noted that the police, FSB, investigators and prosecutors have reduced the extremist and terrorist crime level.
