Five people are accused of stealing maternity capital at the Pension Fund of Ingushetia, head of the Republic Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said in Magas, RIA Novosti reports.
Yevkurov said that investigations will be organized at maternity hospitals, registry offices and bank staff. He also believes that owners of maternity capital have fault in the problem for agreeing to take part in fraud schemes.
The Ingush leader added that the system of maternity capitals should be simplified by issuing finances to personal accounts of mothers so that they would not use it until their children reach a certain age.
Earlier reports said that criminal cases were initiated against Movli Vishegurov, head of the Pension Fund of Ingushetia, and his staff. 5 people have been detained, including Vishegov.
