Tur, an Iranian tanker sailing under the flag of Malta, tried to avoid the oil embargo against Syria, ISRAland reports.
Malta annulled the registration of the vessel. The tanker got 12,000 tons of oil from the Syrian Port of Tartus and was on its way to China.
The Foreign Ministry of Valletta said that Malta is checking other vessels trying to use its flag to avoid sanctions against Syria.
