Valery Radayev has become the Governor of the Saratov Region, RIA Novosti reports.
Radayev received 30 out of 32 votes for. Two communists voted against.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed the official on April 2nd to replace Governor Pavel Ipatov, who resigned on March 23rd. Ipatov had been in power since 2005.
Radayev is no longer a legislator of the regional parliament.
Valery Radayev was born in the village of Blagodatnoye in the Khvalynsy District of the Saratov Region on April 2nd 1961. He graduated from the Saratov Institute for Mechanization of Agriculture named after N.I. Kalinin. He started work in the Khvalynsky District in 1980. He worked at the Blagodatinsky Collective Farm and was its director from 1993 to1996.
Radayev became head of the Khvalynsk administration in April 1996, he was elected to the position in December 1996. He became the head of the municipality of the Khvalynsky District in 2000.
He worked as head of the office of Rosselkhoznadzor in the Saratov Region from March 2005 to December 2007. He was elected as an MP of the regional parliament of Saratov Region of the fourth calling in December 2007, becoming its chairman on December 12th.
