Turkey and Iran must not allow some forces to deteriorate the strategic relations between the two countries, the Iranian Foreign Ministry official representative Ramin Mehmanparast says, Trend reports.
He said that the statements made by the officials from both countries must not negatively affect the strategic relations between Iran and Turkey.
"Only statements made by Turkish and Iranian officials must be decisive for the Turkish-Iranian relations," he said.
He added that Iran and Turkey are two powerful and influential countries in the region. They have general historical and cultural roots. Turkey and Iran have similar positions on many political and international issues.
Previously, a number of senior Iranian officials have criticized Turkey's position on the Syrian issue. They said that the holding of a meeting between Iran and the "six" in Turkey after the "Friends of Syria" conference is wrong.
