Russia prepares program to fight crime and terrorism in the Caucasus

By the order of the Russian president a program of measures aimed
against terrorism and crime in the North Caucasus Federal District
will be drawn up, FSB (Federal Security Agency) chief Alexander
Bortnikov said, ITAR-TASS reports.
He also pointed out that the authorities at all levels should work
hard to improve the social and economic situation in the region and
resolve inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflict, since the difficult
situation in these spheres is a background for radicalization of the
population.
