Gasanov says Baku opposition protests prove Azerbaijan democratic

Ali Gasanov, head of the socio-political department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, said that the sanctioned opposition protests in Baku on Sunday were positive, Trend reports.

Gasanov believes that opposition will continue organizing protests according to the law. Azerbaijan has freedom of speech, press and meetings, he reminds. It shows that Azerbaijan is a democratic state where people may gather freely.

The Public Chamber held a meeting on the 20th section of the Bibieybat Village near the building of a driving school, approved by the executives of Baku. About 1200 people arrived, including members of People’s Front, Musavat, New People’s Army, Classic People’s Front and other parties and NGOs.
