Kofi Annan, special envoy of the UN and the Arab League (LAS) to Syria, has called the escalation of violence in Syria unacceptable and urged the government to stop operations by April 10, Interfax reports.
He expressed shock over latest messages on outbursts of violence. Annan urged the government and opposition to stop all military action by 6 am (local time) on April 12.
