Armenia has no plans to attempt to join NATO, the country's deputy
foreign minister, Arman Kirakosyan, said at a news conference devoted
to NATO week in Armenia, Novosti Armenia reports.
He said there is a big difference between membership and cooperation
with the organization. However NATO and its member-states have
long-standing relations with Armenia and carry out close cooperation
within the framework of the Individual Partnership program (IPAP) in
such spheres as defense, developing of democracy in the army and
public awareness in health care, science and public security, he
added.
