Putin says Russia should support NATO mission in Afghanistan

Russia's incumbent Prime Minister and President-elect, Vladimir Putin, told members of the State Duma today that Russia is interested in supporting the NATO mission in Afghanistan, Ekho Moskvy reports on Wednesday.

The remarks came after a member of parliament from the Communist Party asked Putin to comment on the establishment of a NATO transit base in the Russian town of Ulyanovsk.
