Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has awarded Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov with the 20th Anniversary of Kazakhstan Medal, the press service of the Chechen government reports.
Kazakh Ambassador to Russia Zautbek Turisbekov arrived in Grozny to award Kadyrov. The diplomat noted contribution of the Chechen leader to improvement of ties between the two peoples.
Kadyrov thanked Nazarbayev for the honour. He reminded that Kazakhstan has helped Chechnya many times in the most dramatic moments of history. Kazakhstan received Chechens deported by Stalin and during two military campaigns.
