Karen Yesayan, 27-year old fiancé of the Gyumri mayor’s daughter, was shot after engagement, News Armenia reports.
The police received a report at 5 pm that Yesayan took the car to a car wash and went missing. His Mercedes was found at the Mother Armenia Memorial at 8 pm with its owner dead.
The police initiated a criminal case for murder, illegal purchase and storage of weapons and ammo.
Media say that Karen Babakekhyan, Police Chief of the Shirak Region, and investigators of the Main Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Police of Armenia and the Main Directorate for Organized Crime arrived to investigate.
