Syria did not receive oil shipments from Venezuela

Venezuela has not sent any oil shipments to Syria, except the ones sent earlier, Foreign Minister of the Latin American state Rafael Ramirez said, RIA Novosti reports.

Venezuela provided Syria with 600,000 barrels of diesel fuel from late 2011 to early 2012, shipped in two equal portions.

The conflict in Syria has been ongoing for over a year. The UN says that over 9,000 people have died. The Syrian government says that over 2,300 law enforcers have died in clashes with well-armed militants and that 3,200 civilians have died.

The EU passed the 12th package of sanctions against Syria, freezing accounts of the Syrian Central Bank, banning trade of gems and other measures.
