The Azerbaijani State Border Service has carried out mass drills at the Caspian Sea. Training started on April 12 and has ended today, APA reports.
Border guards practiced protection of oil and gas areas at Caspian islands, export pipelines, oil and gas platforms and patrolling operations using motor boats, helicopters and fire-extinguishing vessels.
General-Lieutenant Elchin Guliyev supervised the training process. The drills consisted of 3 stages, 9 tactical episodes. The Igla missile complex destroyed an imaginary enemy.
1200 servicemen, 21 vessels, 20 motor boats and 8 helicopters were mobilized for training. They demonstrated high skills and accomplished all goals.
