UN head demands more international observers in Syria

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has recommended the UN Security Council to increase the number of international observers in Syria to 300. They should work there for 3 months, AFPF reports.

The secretary general says that the sides of conflict in Syria are not fulfilling their cease-fire agreements fully, but the situation has improved. Ban Ki-moon warned earlier that 250 observers might not be enough.

The Syrian government is yet to fulfill its obligations and withdraw forces to barracks. There have been reports on shootouts by state forces. The Syrian government insists that the shooting comes from armed formations.
