Turkey has bombed positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Northern Iraq, RIA Novosti reports.
Raids were made in Khakurk and Khiner, on the crossing Turkish, Iranian and Iraqi borders. The process took 2 hours. Khavtanin and Metin were attacked.
The Turkish conflict with the Kurdistan Workers' Party has been ongoing for over 25 years. The PKK demands independence. The conflict has resulted in deaths of over 45,000 people. The UN and the European Union recognize the PKK as a terrorist organization.
