The Tagansky Court of Moscow has prolonged the detention of Yekaterina Samutsevich, the third suspected member of the Pussy Riot punk group for an anti-Putin at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow. She will be detained until June 24. The same measures were taken for Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina, RIA Novosti reports.
Judge Ivanova says that she was presented with enough reasons to prolong the arrest, the detained female was neither a student, nor a worker.
Aliy Totorkulov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Russian Congress of Caucasus Peoples, President of the Fund for Assistance of Karachay Cherkessia Youth Development “Elbrusoid”, has commented on the incident.
Islam says that one must find 70 excuses for a person before accusing him. All religions encourage forgiveness, but hooliganism at any temple has no excuse, Totorkulov says. He added that instead of apologizing for the outrageous acts, members of the Pussy Riot punk group started arguing with the Patriarch.
Totorkulov does not urge stoning the punk group or jailing it, but neither does the group deserve forgiving. All confessions have condemned its behavior. The official said that the group may as will be publicly whipped at the Red Square.
