First Armenian collection of commentaries on Constitution published

Presentation of the first collection of commentaries on the Armenian
Constitution took place within the framework of events dedicated to
the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian
Constitutional Court, News Armenia reports.

The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, Gagik Arutiun,
hopes that there will be collections of commentaries to other laws. He
said that 68 legal experts, including those from state structures, had
been working for 2 years to publish the commentaries.

Arutiun believes that there is a gap between the Constitution and
legal reality and that publishing the collection will help develop
constitutional and legal thought in Armenia.

The head of the OSCE office in Yerevan, Sergey Kapinos, emphasized
that this publication will make the Constitution more accessible and
understandable. The OSCE and a German organization GTZ assisted in
publishing the collection. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the
head of government, Tigran Sarkisyan, were some of the first people to
receive the collection.
