Turkey has blocked Israeli participation in the NATO summit set for Chicago on May 20-21, News.am reports.
Israel will not attend the NATO summit, unless it apologizes and pays compensations for killing Turkish citizens in the Mavi Marmara Flotilla attack.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in Brussels that his state vetoes Israel’s attendance at the Chicago summit. Some NATO members, including the US, France, and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen criticized Turkey for its attitude. Some minister promised to veto Egypt, Mauritania, Algeria, Morocco and other states of the Mediterranean Sea.
