Yusup Magomedov, leader of the Khasavyurt militant group, and three other militants have been killed in Dagestan, RIA Novosti reports.
The police attempted to stop a vehicle with the militants at a street in Khasavyurt at about 9 pm. The driver refused to stop and tried to escape. Other people in the car opened fire at the police. Counter-fire killed 3 militants, including their leader.
The Khasavyurt militant group is responsible for store blasts, car blasts, attacks on police officers, racketeering businessmen.
Another militant was killed at the Kakamakhi Village of the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan last night. No police officers have been injured.
