Georgia has refused to extradite former head of the secretariat of ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Oksana Malevannay, suspected of grave crimes, RIA Novosti reports.
Malevannaya escaped the country in April 2010. 28 people are involved in the case, most of whom were special officers protecting the government building that day. Bakiyev and his family and other high-ranking officials are accused of killing 77 and trying to kill 306 people.
Malevannaya requested asylum in Georgia. Some media reported that she tried to cross the border of Ukraine at the Borispol Airport under the name Podolskaya on March 29, 2012, to become a refugee. Ukraine did not allow her to enter, so she returned to Georgia.
