Abkhazia has opened an embassy in Nicaragua. Abkhaz President Alexander Ankvab has handed credentials to Abkhaz Ambassador to Venezuela Zaur Gvajava, APSNYPRESS reports.
Gvajava will present the credentials to President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega.
The Abkhaz Embassy in Venezuela has been operating for a year and is establishing links with other Latin American states. A delegation of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry will visit Venezuela on May 20-27 to sign a visa-free agreement.
Gvajava became a representative of Abkhazia in Latin America in 2009. He has held discussions of plans for 2012 with Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Chirikba. He arrived from Caracas to Sukhumi for the first time as an ambassador.
